Bushland Regeneration

 

• Lion Island, Broken Bay. NPWS. Bush regeneration works in a highly sensitive nature reserve inhabited by threatened fauna species.
• Garigal and Ku-ring-gai National Parks. NPWS. Riparian Weed Control, targeted weeding and mapping programmes in remote areas throughout Garigal and Ku-ring-gai National Parks.
• HMAS Penguin, Georges Heights, Pymble Training Base, HMAS Waterhen and North Head Military Installation. Sydney North Department of Defence Lands. Bush regeneration and fire hazard reduction works.
• Prospect Canal Reserve. NPWS. Large-scale revegetation of a habitat corridor adjacent to the former Prospect Canal, which was recently converted to a cycleway. Works involved preparation and amelioration of the soil and the supply and installation of over 2,000m3 of mulch, installation of over 60,000 native plants and over 2.5km of irrigation.
• North Rocks. Parramatta Council. Regeneration of a grove of Grass Trees (Xanthorrhoea arborea) following transplantation into a former building site in North Rocks.
• Kangaroo Park, Manly. Manly Council. Cliffline weeding requiring specialised skills in abseiling.
• Avoca Lagoon and Wamberal Dunes. Gosford City Council. Rehabilitated and regenerated with endemic species to restore a thick native vegetation cover to reduce erosion and attract local fauna to the site.
• Blue Gum Reserve and Rosemead Rd. Hornsby Shire Council. Contains TSCA listed Blue Gum High Forest through the lower Hornsby region. Both sites have been continually worked since 2003 and have regenerated naturally due to regular Primary, Secondary and Maintenance works.

• Prince Henry at Little Bay, Malabar. Landcom. Bushland management works including endangered ecological community translocation and prescribed burning of Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub (ESBS)
